99% Uptime Guarantee
Our hosting facily provides that guarantee for our network and we wanted to extend that to your servers and services. We guarantee a great availabilty to our virtual servers and services like mysql, smtp, imap, http and in case of shared Liferay the application server. If you experience more down time than 1% in any of those services during the life time of your contract we’ll provide you a extra day for each hour of down time beyond the 1%. This excludes scheduled maintenance with we will notify you at least 2 hour prior and we’ll do these mostly on weekends and off peak hours to minimize distruptions.
So far we haven’t offered any kind of backups and we realize that your data is important so now we provide complimentary automatic backup for all shared plans. We take these for disaster recovery purposes only and they do not replace your own backups for accidental deletes. We take daily snapshots of files and databases and at least once a week push them to a off site backup server in case the unthinkable hardware failure happens. So at all times there is at least one a maximum of week old backup of your data available.
Monitoring and Alerts
We’ve had a monitoring and alert system in place for few years now and for this reason we are confident in offering our uptime guarantee. We monitor the health of the system by monitoring CPU, Memory, IO, Network and HDD usage and send alerts in case anything goes beyond set threshold. For Liferay we also monitor threads, heap usage and http response time. For our VPS plans we monitor the server uptime only. For our VPS plans we can add service monitoring with alerts to your designated contact for a small monthly fee. This usually gives us advance warning to react before an outtage occurs.
